The Big Concert in Palmyra.

Yesterday a concert was held among the ruins of the city of Palmyra in the Syrian Desert.
A month ago, the cave men called ISIS were running around this city terrorizing the civilian population. Now they are gone, driven out by the Syrian army with the help of Russia, and the "pearl of the Desert" has been retrieved from the terrorists.
To commemorate this epic rescue of this world heritage site, the St. Petersburg orchestra was flown in and, in the ancient Roman amphi-theatre, they put on a world class performance. It celebrated a triumph of civilization over barbarism; of beauty over ugliness; of art over chaos; of the forces of good over the agencies of darkness; of Christianity over primitive Islam.
Was this an event worthy of international accolade?
Certainly in my own humble opinion.
But no sooner had the closing notes of the violins died upon the still desert air, than the western media were branding the event as no more than Russian propaganda and a cheap shop window display to boost the Assad regime.

But here is a foot note.
The very place where the conductor of the orchestra was standing was a plenum stained red with the blood of 25 Syrian soldiers, beheaded by the thugs of ISIS; an act of butchery broadcast for all the world to see.
Want to talk about propaganda?
Take your pick.

Jubilate.

The Joy of the European Union.

You never know how a marriage will work out until the years begin to pass and the clauses of "for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse" begin to take effect.
Yesterday a solution to the migrant crisis of the European Union was voiced in a meeting of leaders in Dublin, Ireland.
For those member states reluctant to accept their "fair" share of refugees a fine will be levied to help change their mind.
It has been set at $250,000.00 for every person refused entry into that respective country.
Do the math. If 20,000 refugees applied to enter Poland and were refused, the Polish government would be fined five hundred million dollars.
This is not what the member states envisaged on their happy wedding day with the common market ten, fifteen or twenty years ago when the champagne corks were popping and everybody was on the dance floor together.
But now adopted children are arriving by the million and the European House is proving to small to hold them all.
In the 7th Chapter of Daniel there is a stark vision of a union of nations, depicted as a beast with ten horns.
Out from the ten horns arises a single horn with hypnotic eyes and a big mouth telling the rest of the horns the WAY THINGS ARE GOING TO BE!
Sounds like the big conference in Dublin yesterday.
All of this is foretold in chapter 7 v 8.
Bad news.
But read the next verses. It all about Jesus coming back and taking the real refugees back to Heaven with Him..... free of charge.

Now that is GOOD NEWS indeed.
Jubilate.
