Nimrud. How Isis takes on the Chaldeans.

Well nobody can say that ISIS (The Islamic State) is a respecter of persons. Having beheaded just about all whom they have captured; Christian and Muslim alike, they have now got to work on the priceless and irreplaceable statues of ancient Babylon.

With the help of drills, hammers and saws they have dismembered artifacts that go back 3,000 years in time to the days of King Ashurbanipal, emperor of the Chaldeans. He, too in his day, had a nasty habit of cutting of the limbs of his captives and, it seems, that what goes around comes around. If reports are true, statues of the old king have been decapitated.
There has been outrage in the intellectual and archaeological community at such desecration, prompting calls from this usually peaceful conclave, for a swift annihilation of ISIS.
"Isn't  it strange" remarked my wife, Pauline, "that the scholars who were silent when Christians had their heads lopped off are now calling for retribution after the martyrdom of King Ashurbanipal."
Yes, indeed, it is a mysterious world but if all acts of man's inhumanity to man are recorded (and they are) ISIS will do well to note the wrath of the world's museum curators. They are now on their "MOST WANTED" list.

We are paving the pathway to the Bomb.

Today, Benjamin Netanyahu, laid the matter out before the U.S. Congress and the the U.S. Congress apparently agreed with him, if the roars of approval and standing ovations were anything to go by.
In short, he declared that the talks between Iran and the rest of the world were going nowhere and that Iran was hell bent on building a nuclear bomb.
If they succeed, Netanyahu believes, Iran will be come a menace to its neighbors and fulfill its stated goal to exterminate Israel.
Therefore, they must be prevented from achieving this mad goal.
How to do that? Well that answer was not forthcoming, but for Israel watchers over the years we have a pretty good idea.
Having once destroyed Iraq's nuclear power reactors there is little doubt that Israel will do the same with Iran's: and in the same way.
With a bombing mission.
Possessing the fourth largest nuclear arsenal in the world, Israel is quite capable of carrying out its threats, with or without the sanction of the United States, and this why President Obama will not be sleeping well tonight.
Maybe a lot of other people will also be suffering from heart burn, but for those of us who read our Bibles, we know that final outcome has already been decided by God. Read about it in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. It is a victorious one.
