Marilyn Monroe From fame to shame.

It would be difficult for those born after 1960 to understand the star-power and celebrity status of Marilyn Monroe. She took America and then the West by storm.
It was sex-appeal allied to the film industry, newly arrived T.V. and media hype that finally put the whole world at her feet.

Ten years after this shot was taken during  the Korean War she was dead after an apparent suicide.
From fame to shame in a few short years.
The words of Jesus come to mind:

"What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul: or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

For those believers among us still waiting to be 'discovered' just be thankful that your name is written in the Book of Life.
For those among us who HAVE been discovered, serve God humbly with your talents.
For those among us who will never be discovered (myself included) be glad that Jesus Christ discovered you and that you are going to make your home in Heaven.

Hitler: From Hero to Zero

Here are some intriguing photographs from the archives which convey age-old lessons for us all.

HITLER:FROM HERO TO ZERO IN NINE YEARS.

The first picture is from the Munich Stadium of Light where Hitler whipped the Nazi faithful into a frenzy of excitement in 1936.

From this pinnacle of success the thousand year Third Reich was launched. It was to last a mere nine years.
The photo below is the last one taken of Hitler, discussing with his chauffeur the disposal of his body after he committed suicide.

Hitler would have been well advised to read and learn from the Lord's prayer:
"For THINE is the Kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen"
Unfortunately he had his own version "For MINE is the Kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever."
As we know, it didn't work quite work out that way.

The Road to Damascus. To be or not to be?

The Damascus Road.
The event that took place there two thousand years ago, when the light shone from heaven and the voice of God spoke to Saul of Tarsus, changed him and changed the world forever.

Today, as the United States Congress debate whether or not to press the buttons of war against Damascus, there is a desperate need for the same light to shine and the same voice to speak.

I ask myself the question, if bullets and bombs are already flying in  Syria, how can adding more T.N.T. bring peace?
If the nation is already ablaze with war how can sending cruise missiles help put the fire out?

If Jesus could put up His Hand on the road the Damascus Road twenty centuries ago and command "HALT" surely He can do the same this week in the White House.

A lot of people will be more than grateful if He does.
