Mother Shipton (part 3}

Here is the final part of Mother Shipton's mini-series.
In common with the suspicion of the age in which she lived, Mother Shipton was sometimes depicted as an ugly looking hag. She was in fact one of the most remarkable prophetic spirits of her time.
Here is the last part of her poem on the end days.

"Then, when the fiercest fight is done, England and France shall be as one.
The British Olive next shall twine in marriage with the German vine
(Common Market)
Men shall walk beneath and over streams: fulfilled shall be our strangest dreams.

All England's sons that plow the land shall oft be seen with Book in hand.(rise of literacy)
The poor shall now great wisdom know.
Great houses stand in far-flung vale all covered o'er with snow and hail.

In nineteen hundred twenty six build houses light of straw and sticks  (the great depression)
For then shall mighty wars be planned.
When pictures seem alive with movements free (motion pictures)
When boats like fishes swim beneath the sea.
When men like birds shall scour the sky, then half this world, deep drenched in blood shall die. (WW 2 air, sea and U Boat warfare.)

But those who live to see this through, in fear and trembling this shall do.
Flee to the mountains and the dens, the bog and forest and wild fens
For storms shall rage and oceans roar, when Gabriel stands on sea and shore.
And as He blows his wondrous horn, Old worlds shall die and new be born."

Carpe Diem!

Mother Shipton

Here is part two of Mother Shipton's prophetic poem, plus a new portrait. 1498

I have received several comments on this blog. I am sure that if you wish for the transcript in full you will be able to pick it up from the inter-net.
Part 2.

"In water iron then shall float, as easy as wooden boat.
Gold shall be found in streams and stone in land that is as yet unknown.
Water and fire shall wonders do, (steam power) and England shall admit the Jew.

The Jew that once was held in scorn shall of a Christian then be born (Benjamin Disraeli)
A house of glass shall come to pass (crystal palace),in England but alas, alas!
A war will follow with the work where dwells the pagan and the Turk. (WW1)

The states will lock in fiercest strife, and seek to takes each other's life.
When North shall thus divide from South, the eagle builds in lion's mouth.
Then tax and blood and cruel war shall come to every humble door."

Makes you think, doesn't it?

Final part tomorrow.

Jubilate.

Mother Shipton.

My early days were spent in the city of York, in England. I well remember a family outing to a picturesque place called Knaresboro.
My dad was going to take my sister and me to see Mother Shipton's Cave.
Quite the place it was and quite the lady lived there around five hundred years ago.
This is what this remarkable woman, who was a a student of Bible prophecy, wrote in a poem concerning the days in which we live.

I will enclose it in two parts for your interest.

                          MOTHER SHIPTON'S PROPHECY

In the year A.D. 1499.

"And now a word in uncouth rhyme of what shall be in future time.
For, in those wondrous far-off days, the women shall adopt a craze.
To dress like men and trousers wear, and cut off all their locks of hair.

They'll ride astride with brazen brow, as witches do on broomsticks now.
Then love shall die,and marriage cease and nations wane as babes decrease.
Then wives shall fondle cats and dogs and men shall live the same as hogs.

A carriage without horse shall go; disaster fill the world with woe.
In London, Primrose Hill shall be its centre hold a Bishop' See.
Around the world men's thoughts shall fly, quick as the twinkling of an eye.

And waters shall great wonders do--How strange and yet it it shall come true.
Then upside down the world shall be, and gold found at the root of tree.
Through tow'ring hills proud man shall ride, no horse or mule move by his side.

Beneath the water men shall walk, shall ride, shall sleep, shall even talk.
And in the air men shall be seen, in white and black as well as green.
A great man shall then come and go for prophecy declares it so!"

Part 2 tomorrow.
