Back from Blighty

Well, go away for a month and everything falls apart.

I had scarcely returned from Europe when I had news that my good neighbour had suffered a massive aneurysm.

Before I left for the hospital to pray for her there was another call to say that Milt, a long time friend and colleague, had undergone emergency surgery for a quadruple by pass.

Surely that was enough for one day?

But when I finally got home there was an email to tell me that John, a close friend of thirty years, was rushed from his home in an ambulance with symptoms of a stroke.

Back to hospital again.

The Bible says

"If there be any sick  let the elders of the church anoint them with oil and the prayer of faith shall heal the sick."

As of this moment my oil bottle is getting low, my faith is still high and all of the patients are expected to make a full recovery.

This morning, my neighbour Jim said: "That's it for you! No more vacations for the next ten years."

Jubilate.

Farewell Henry Morgantaler

News today of the death of Henry Morgantaler.

A Polish Jew by birth, Morgantaler was a front line figure in the abortion trade of Canada from 1980 to 2005.

He is estimated to have overseen the termination of 50,000 pregnancies during his malignant career(what may be rightly termed his own personal holocaust)

There will be a celebration of Morgantaler's life this coming week (whatever that may mean) but 50,000 unborn children will be asking the question: "Who will speak for us?".

Never fear, little ones, your Heavenly Father will be your most eloquent advocate.

The tables will scarcely be stacked and the last chairs folded at Morgantaler's wake than the fun will have begun.

Henry will have gone to meet his maker and you can count on it, the Judge of all the earth will do right.

Jubilate.
